Gordon Food Service is hiring a highly motivated and organized individual to fill a part-time temporary position. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to learn new things quickly and adapt to a changing environment
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with vendors and brokers to source non-stock items.
Negotiates cost with special order vendors and updates vendor cost in GFS’ cost system. Implements proper margin of special order(s) in the system.
Ensures the quality of special order vendor performance.
Utilizes industry and product knowledge to leverage shipments of products to GFS’ advantage.
Resolves special order vendor invoice and purchase order discrepancies and approves vendor freight payments

Ideal candidate will have:

0-1 year of customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Decision making capabilities with an analytical mindset
