Recipe: Savory Fresh Herb Johnny Cakes

Ingredients
- 1 qt. Whole White Milk
- 8 ct. Gordon Choice Large Grade A Shell Eggs
- ¼ c. Primo Gusto Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp. Baking Powder
- 4 Tbsp. Markon® Italian Parsley
- 2 Tbsp. Markon Chives
- 1 Tbsp. Markon Thyme
- 2 Tbsp. GFS Granulated Iodized Salt
- 2 tsp. Crushed Garlic
- 2 c. GFS Bleached All-Purpose Flour
- 4 c. Yellow Cornmeal
Recipe Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel mixing bowl fitted with a whipping attachment. Mix on medium speed until blended. Transfer to a storage container. Cover, label, date and refrigerate until needed.
To prepare à la carte:
Scoop 2 oz. of batter onto a heated flat griddle. Cook on both sides until golden-brown and just cooked through. Place on a warmed serving plate.
