The Software Engineer develops, creates, and modifies ERP and Third party computer applications software or specialized utility programs and scripts.  Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.  Designs software or customizes software in order to optimize operational efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Develop primarily Progress/Openedge programs or scripts according to specification and established coding standards set forth by our architect and senior software engineers.  GFS will provide Progress/Openedge Training if needed.

  • Document code for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.

  • Confirm designs with architecture, learn the programming structure specific to store technology solutions.

  • Write database queries for a tightly coupled Progress/Openedge database.

  • Work with internal and external business partners, determine scope and estimate for tasks related to issues to be resolved.

  • Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, scalability and optimal performance.

  • Analyze and resolve program/script or system failures.

  • Facilitate formal code reviews for programs/scripts.

  • Perform software system maintenance, support and requirement analysis.

  • Assist in designing GUI and software components.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

  • Hybrid Model: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Leading candidates will have:

  • 1 to 5+ years of previous software development experience with a programming language or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
