Position Summary:
The Divisional Margin Lead is responsible for the creation, development and execution of initiatives supporting overall Divisional margin strategies. This role collaborates with Sales, Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, Divisional Leadership, and Home Office Shared Services to drive profitable margin outcomes in the areas of product, cost, price and customer profitability, working in alignment with Corporate and Divisional objectives.
What you will do:
Executes a continuous and comprehensive Divisional Revenue Management plan for the Division(s) assigned.
Creates and distributes weekly/monthly performance metrics to Division leadership – highlighting reporting history, predictive trends and key recommendations related to Division trending performance in key margin metrics.
Diagnose margin leakage and propose corrective actions.
Monitor, evaluate and propose solutions for customer and material profitability opportunities.
Monitor, evaluate, and propose solutions for sales region/district/territory profitability opportunities.
Utilizes predictive reporting, identify trends, provide insight on future impact, cost change best practices, customer health and other impact reporting to identify revenue management opportunities.
Supports the execution of product/item margin enhancement strategies at the divisional level, maximizing case growth and margin opportunities.
Monitor, validate, and leverage local market dynamics to competitively position products within assigned Division(s).
Evaluates all components of Cost of Goods through to Customer Pricing within Division product assortment.
Collaborates with Home Office Shared Services and Regional Merchandising to suggest opportunities to maximize revenue within Division general product assortment.
Collaborates with Division leadership to review key components and revenue impacts of new and revised Customer Agreement drafts, including but not limited to customer rebates, MDA agreements, and Non MDA cost plus agreements
Support the structuring of promotions to effectively drive demand without eroding margins.
Responsible for Price Deviation compliance and escalation review.
Shares oversight with Director of Sales in strategies to maximize strategic pricing utilization, inclusive of pricing goals and impact reporting.
Collaborates with Director of Sales and Division Sales Trainer, to recommend custom approaches to effective price training and strategy.
Works with Division Sales Leadership to develop specific action plans for under performing markets and CDS.
Collaborates on continued improvement of processes, reporting and tools to scale across the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to the table:
More than 5 years progressive experience in food service marketing, merchandising, finance or a related field, with previous management experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance or a related field.
Proficient leadership abilities, capable of motivating and persuading others and influencing direction without explicit authority.
Proficient communication skills ‐ both written and verbal ‐ to communicate effectively with a broad‐based team of diverse internal stakeholders
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service, mentoring, interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have good time management, administration, and organizational skills.
Must be able to build relationships, network, influence and link resources to plan and execute business practices.
Understanding of industry, customer segment and geographical market key drivers.
Knowledge of the principles and methods of category management, sourcing and procurement, cost and pricing.
Understanding of sales and marketing strategies, tactics and kpi’s.
Ability to inject creativity, fresh thinking, and new perspectives into business approaches.
Social perceptiveness – awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Judgment and decision making – considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
