Position Summary:

Serves as supervisor for Nutrition Resource Center (NRC) team members being available for mentoring, day to day project support and staff management.  Serves as the subject matter expert for nutrition and food safety information and training for Gordon Food Service.  Develops and implements nutrition and food safety resources, tools and solutions for both internal and external customers.  Collaborates with the Manager, North American Nutrition Resource Centre to contribute to and help execute the strategy for the NRC.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the day-to-day activities including problem solving of customer concerns, menu software concerns and planning and/or requests via the hotline and assigning projects to team members.

  • Leads the strategy and development of recipe database and sample menu templates. Creates, evaluates and maintains recipe database and template menus for conformance to proper nutrition standards by sub-segment.,

  • Ensures conformance to nutrition, safety, sanitation and regulatory standards.

  • Provides strategic input into the continued development, enhancement and evolution of NRC tools.

  • Responds to telephone inquiries from internal and external customers and provides nutrition, food safety information as required.

  • Prepares and delivers presentations on nutrition and food safety related topics.

  • Trains customers and internal teams on the features and tools available from NR

  • Interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff.  Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.  Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Must have good problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Must have good written, verbal, and organizational, customer service and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to prepare and deliver presentations.  

  • Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize and be able to work independently and/or within a team environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or related field required

  • Registered Dietitian and/or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist required
