Position Summary:
The Retail Receipt Checker is responsible for ensuring that customers have paid for their purchases and that all transactions are processed accurately. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to de-escalate upset/hostile customer interactions, and have excellent customer service skills.
Essential Functions:
Greet customers and check their receipts as they exit the store
Verify that all items on the receipt have been paid for according to the Receipt Validation SOP
Resolve any discrepancies or issues with customers in a professional and courteous manner
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
Assist customers with any questions or concerns
Report any suspicious activity to Store Leadership and the Regional Manager and Asset Protection team
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned by Facilities Supervisor.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to perform tasks, prioritize, and work independently or within a team
Basic mathematical aptitude to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and counting
Ability to count and make change
Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures
Basic computer skills
Time management and organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions
Must be at least 18 years of age (required)
Must have High School diploma/ Equivalent (required)
