Schedule: 1st shift Sunday-Thursday 4:00 AM – Noon
Pay: $22.64 per hour

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a Produce Inspector, you’ll support our team by inspecting incoming and existing product inventory. You will also monitor and inspect our product’s shelf life and quality standards before selection. Collaborating with warehouse analysts on inventory and quality conditions of products to reduce liquidation and spoilages. Gordon Food Service is seeking a seasoned Produce Inspector with a proven track record in quality control and food safety. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in inspecting produce, ensuring our products meet the highest standards for our customers.

Does this look like you?
You must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED equivalent
2 years of warehouse experience required
Must have knowledge of food regulations (FDA, USDA, and/or CFIA)
Must have knowledge of food safety and quality auditing standards and techniques
Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification must be obtained – training will be provided
Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related field preferred
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed – holidays are very important to our customers
We have frozen products – your ability to work in extremely cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while you’re here
Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills to represent the department and speak at minor functions
