As a Non-Food Product Specialist, you will utilize knowledge and expertise of non-food, tabletop, chemical, and beverage-related products, services, and resources to provide divisional customers with strategic, profit-maximizing solutions.
What you’ll do:
Provides relevant business and product solutions related to the non-foods, tabletop, chemical and beverage categories, to complement the initiatives of our Sales and Marketing teams, with an ultimate goal of increasing the overall market share of Gordon Food Service.
Serves as the primary divisional contact for the Non-Foods categories. Develops relationships with key customers to provide product expertise and market intelligence.
Interfaces and collaborates with internal and external customers and vendors/brokers to achieve sales and margin goals.
Develops, prepares, and presents customer presentations on product-related solutions.
Utilizes relevant analytical and reporting tools to drive strategies, resources and support, in alignment with divisional key performance indicators and category goals and initiatives. (Includes profitability tools used to evaluate equipment placement.)
Collaborates with Regional Chemical and Beverage field service teams to drive profitable growth and relevant solutions to divisional customers.
Participates in the execution of food shows, other related shows and activities in support of strategic divisional events.
Ensures consistent and relevant non-food product and solutions training for sales teams, in collaboration with other divisional marketing team members.
Maintains knowledge of current trends in the field.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
A High School Diploma/GED is required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2 years of prior sales, business, marketing, internal sales, or food service experience -or- six years previous product, marketing, or internal sales experience in lieu of a bachelor degree
Maintaining a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record
Ability to obtain your food safety certification
