Highlights:

  • 1st Shift Hours with some overnight when needed: Monday – Friday with some possible weekends if needed., 6 AM – 4 PM

  • Leads a team of 45 total maintenance and custodial staff

  • Responsible for technical direction and accountability for all planned and unplanned maintenance for a 455,000 square foot automated warehouse

  • Lithia Springs, Georgia 

  • Department operates 24/7 with some on call responsibilities

Responsible for managing and directing the safe, cost effective, and efficient operations of the building maintenance department in our warehouse. This site was recently converted from a manual facility to an automated warehouse, and the maintenance team has responsibility for both preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairs.

Equipment includes mechanical and electrical systems, mobile equipment, conveyors/automation, hydraulic systems, welding, fabrication, and refrigeration.     

People Leadership:

  • Interviews, hires, and retains staff.

  • Works to develop and acts as a mentor and resource.

  • Completes performance evaluations and reviews.

  • Conducts departmental meetings to communicate team results and Corporate initiatives.

Technical Leadership & Compliance

  • Manages warehouse projects; acquiring bids, scheduling contractors, project timelines, submitting necessary paperwork. Reviews inspection and repair reports and observes progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.

  • Maintains a warehouse safety culture following the policies outlined in the Operations Safety handbook and monitors warehouse safety according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Attends 3rd party audits (AIB, PHA, Mechanical Integrity, and Compliance).

  • Reviews spreadsheets related to maintenance (energy tracking, recycling, metrics, and action incentive etc.) targeting abnormalities and opportunities for improvements.

Operational Efficiency

  • Oversees and directs all aspects of equipment repair and housekeeping.

  • Collaborates with other Warehouse Leaders to achieve food safety standards, warehouse goals, and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Coordinates the planning of preventive maintenance programs.  Ensures compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) Standards and minimizes disruption to the operation.  

  • Reviews technical papers, catalogs, GFS Standards and other resources to determine supplies and maintenance methods to improve warehouse operations.

Leading Candidates will differentiate themselves with these strengths:

  • Certificate from a trade school with mechanical or electrical emphasis preferred

  • Five years previous warehouse maintenance experience, including at least two years’ supervisory experience preferred.   

  • RETA certification preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints including electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, refrigeration, etc.

  • Curiosity and technical trouble-shooting ability.

  • Understands and ensures compliance with GFSI food safety standards and expectations.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills, organizational and problem solving skills 

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.  

  • Comfortable with office technology, including Google applications, internet apps, and mobile technology
