Position Summary:

Presents a positive image while serving as liaison between Gordon Food Service (GFS) management and its customers. Communicates all customer issues and concerns. Operates GFS equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of refrigerated van, and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.

Essential Functions:

Stamp upwards of 3,000 cases with official USDA stamp to ensure clearance for inspection
Monitor and load containers for shipment using a pallet jack
Coordinates with internal staff and third-party service providers to load products into on-site containers based on USDA specification
Works closely with on-site USDA officer to ensure compliance of established guidelines
Visits USDA Veterinary Office for processing of paperwork daily
Delivers and picks-up paperwork from various governmental agencies as needed
Picks-up product from vendors as assigned
Makes deliveries to customers, freight forwarders, and shipside locations as needed
Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors
Accurately collects customer payments and manages customer paperwork to include signed invoices, credits, inspection documentation, etc.
Performs proper equipment maintenance, monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in timely manner.
Collaborates with management and International sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

This position requires punctuality, good verbal, problem solving, and listening skills.
Must be able to work independently and also function in a team environment.
Must be goal oriented with a positive attitude and be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Basic computer skills.
