Gordon Food Service is hiring an Accounts Payable Analyst. Assist Shared Services Leadership with analytical data as needed, including but not limited to the month-end close process, GL account reconciliation & analysis, preparation of various monthly reports ,and provide support for day to day activity. Also, collaborates on strategic projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Function as the central point of contact for specific, more complex activity; both internally and externally
Assist with the closing process, including but not limited to auditing and preparing information or reports to substantiate account reconciliations and balances
Prepares and organizes data for internal and external audit requirements
Preparation of studies, discrepancy analysis, reports, metrics and other analysis to support their Shared Service Department
Uses advanced Excel skills for data analysis
Participate in Business Process Review and Alignment
Participate in departmental projects as assigned
Daily/weekly/periodic reporting
Ad hoc reporting as assigned
Complex statement/consolidated invoice processing not covered by Automated Processes
Unearned Cash Discount discrepancy research and communication, repay processing
Vendor debit balance collection
Duplicate payment auditing
AP Metric reporting
Performs other duties as assigned
Ideal candidate will have:
Vocational – Knowledge of industry trends specific to Shared Services processing.
Mathematical – Moderate math skills for use in Excel and analytics.
Reasoning / Problem Solving – Comparing, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc. and ability to recognize non-standard situations / discrepancies with invoices
Communication – Reading (standard and technical), writing (business, technical, copy, etc.), speaking (basic, conversational)
Human Relations – Customer service and relationship building.
Self Management – Must be open minded, have integrity, initiative, value consciousness, deadline focused and strong motivation toward company, team and individual results.
Technology – moderate to advanced Excel knowledge
Must be detail oriented with a commitment to a high level of accuracy.
Experience:
Bachelor degree preferred Accounting/Finance or related
One-year previous work experience with Bachelor Degree or three-years experience without Bachelor Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Hybrid Schedule 3 days in office 2 days remote
Monday to Friday
8 am to 5 pm
