2nd Shift Warehouse Packer

Location: Springfield, OH

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 7:30pm-Finish

Pay: $19.70 + $1.00 Shift Differential

Position Summary:

Removes product from automated conveyor and packs product (by customer) in a manner where product will withstand transport and arrive damage-free.

Essential Functions:

  • Reads and analyzes daily load sheets.

  • Uses PIV to transport non conveyable items when needed. 

  • Assesses space available in trailers and retrieves cases from the conveyor.  

  • Safely organizes cases on the trailer, fitting and blocking cases so that heavy items are on the bottom.  Secures load to prevent damage during transit.

  • Separates grocery, cooler and freezer items and packs accordingly.

  • Offers assistance to other team members.

  • Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis – remove pallets, clean up boxes, etc.

  • May scan cases with RIF when needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Must have the ability to perform very physically active work for the majority of the day

  • Must be able to maintain a fast work pace appropriate to the workload and according to standards

  • Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.  

  • Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.  

  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.  

  • Must possess basic math skills including the ability to multiply, divide, subtract and add mentally and on paper.

  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.  

  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
