Join our team as an Assistant Transportation Manager and help ensure the efficient and economical delivery of Gordon Food Service products

As an Assistant Transportation Manager, no two days are the same, but typically you'll be involved in the following:Ā
LeadershipĀ - driver meetings, mentoring, motivating, ride-along/coaching trips, and training
Team ManagementĀ -Ā participation in interviewing, hiring, training, performance assessments, and recognition
Operational ManagementĀ - route balancing, dispatch, equipment assignments, backhaul scheduling
Regulatory OversightĀ - DOT, Federal, State, and Local regulations
Route CoverageĀ - during vacations and absencesĀ
Schedule:Ā 5 Day Work Week Monday - Friday. Start as early as 3am.

Does this look like you?
At least 21 years of ageĀ
High school diploma or GED equivalentĀ
Class A Commercial Drivers License
CDL-T certification preferred
Two to three years of previous transportation experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standardsĀ
Successfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check
Must have knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Smith System (Keys to Safe Driving), and dispatch procedures
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)Ā
