Generation Z lives in a 24\/7 world, where they\u2019re always plugged in and able to get what they want at almost any hour. They eat out four times a week, according to the October 2014 edition of Table Tracker, but because of their age and relatively low income, they\u2019re also frugal, with less money to spend at each meal. Sharing plates and combo meals are a popular way to give them low-cost variety and the fast, efficient service they crave.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Who is Gen Z?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>They make up 7% of the North American workforce, and they are its most-diverse group. They were raised in an online world that ignores most social, economic, and racial boundaries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They grew up with touchscreens, not computers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Theirs has been a time of recession, terrorism, and complexity.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Live streaming is commonplace.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>They have an attention span of about 8 seconds, and about 11% have ADHD.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>They have FOMO, a \u201cfear of missing out.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Contrasting Generation Y and Z, <\/em>Huffington Post, 2014&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Menu Magic Words<\/h3>\n<p>They\u2019re young, but they\u2019re very much in touch with their world. An outright ban is a huge affront.<\/li>\n<li>Emphasize flexibility. A work-life balance is important to Gen Z.<\/li>\n<li>Guidance is more important than structure.<\/li>\n<li>They listen to direction from older, more experienced workers.<\/li>\n<li>Quick feedback is a must.
