NuProduce, a Gordon Food Service specialty company, recently reached a major milestone by earning certification in Markon\u2019s 5-Star Food Safety Program on their first attempt. This marks an exciting chapter for NuProduce, unlocking the opportunity to ship their value-added products under Markon\u2019s \u201cReady-Set-Serve\u201d brand. In the coming weeks, cases will begin to transition to this branded packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Achieving Markon certification is no small feat. The rigorous audit process requires robust compliance processes and adherence to the highest food safety standards. Guiding the NuProduce team through this intensive process was Lindsay Davis, Manager of Food Safety & Quality Assurance at NuProduce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLindsay demonstrated excellent leadership, attention to detail, and a war room mentality from start to finish,\u201d said Erica Waara, Sr. Director of Food Safety & Quality. \u201cThe NuProduce team should be incredibly proud of the dedication it took to make the Markon certification a reality in such a short amount of time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the momentum, production at NuProduce continues to ramp up. Since the end of January, the facility has been adding roughly two to eight new products per week. Current offerings now include a wide range of custom-cut vegetables, including onions, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and much more. The team is processing over 4,000 cases a week, while experiencing a post-spring break surge in volume thanks to the favorable weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customer response has been overwhelmingly positive, with remarkably few quality concerns reported. Demonstrating a strong War Room Mentality, the team is also maintaining impressive fill rates, ensuring consistent product availability for customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it’s the dedication and passion of their people that truly elevates the final product, delivering consistent excellence every day,” said Eric Meisel, Produce Specialist at Gordon Food Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
