The best part? It\u2019s within your budget. Capitalize on the vast potential of this age group by tweaking their favorite foods, many of which are already on your menu. The same goes for dining experiences. Your operation probably already features many of the attributes millennials want most. The trick is making sure customers see it and embrace it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Who are the Millennials?<\/h2>\n<p>They are the most diverse of all the generations, and their attitudes have been shaped by topics and events such as women\u2019s rights, high energy costs, recession, and war.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Often depicted as slackers, they are self-reliant and like to work alone.<\/li>\n<li>They value flexibility and freedom, especially at work.<\/li>\n<li>They are likely to have as many as a dozen jobs in their lifetime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Generational Differences in the Workplace<\/em>, Horizon Health<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Growth Flavors<\/h3>\n<p>Go ahead, make a millennial\u2019s day\u2014add these flavors to items already on your menu:<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gfs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/millennials-growth-flavors-v3.jpg\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 291px;\"><\/h3>\n<h3>Menu Magic Words<\/h3>\n<p>Sometimes all it takes to win a customer\u2019s heart and appetite is the right description. Millennials say these are words that speak volumes:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gfs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/millennials-menu-magic-words.jpg\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 279px;\"><\/p>\n<h3>The Millennial Dining Experience<\/h3>\n<p>You don\u2019t need to be the flashy gastro hotspot to be appealing. Millennials visit a variety of restaurants, and the attributes they crave are within the grasp of any operation. It\u2019s important to find your brand and your voice, stick to it, and make sure customers know you\u2019re speaking to them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Millennials value opportunities for menu customization. 60-70% of millennials say appealing taste and flavor are most important when selecting a restaurant.<\/li>\n<li>Better-for-you options may bring them into a restaurant, and a lack of healthy fare may keep them away.<\/li>\n<li>84% of millennials said freshness is most likely to influence their food and beverage purchases, with 41% saying they will pay more for freshness. Millennials also say health-halo callouts such as \u201clocal,\u201d \u201cnatural,\u201d \u201cauthentic,\u201d and \u201cpremium\u201d influence their food-buying decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepaying and buying food at kiosks appeal to millennials more than any other generation. Nearly 60% say they would use call-ahead or online ordering for delivery or takeout, and 45% want tools to let them to see the progress of their order.<\/li>\n<li>Fairness matters: 61% of millennials say they would be most likely to visit a restaurant that treats employees well\u2014providing good working conditions and livable wages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The Generation Consumer Trend Report<\/em>, Technomic Inc., 2014<\/p>\n<h3>Favorite Foods<\/h3>\n<p>Pizza and burgers. No surprise, everyone craves them at times.
