The distribution center, located in portions of Cass and Foster Townships, is now shipping product and employs 50 full-time employees.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This new facility broadens our ability to service the needs of our multi-unit customers and provide capacity to support growth throughout the entire East Coast of the United States,&#8221; said Randy Plekker, Gordon Food Service Executive Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>The Pottsville facility is the company\u2019s tenth and eastern-most distribution center in the United States. Currently, Gordon Food Service has distribution centers in Grand Rapids (2) and Brighton (2), Michigan; Springfield, Ohio; Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Greenville, South Carolina; and Ocala and Miami, Florida. In addition, a distribution center in Kenosha, Wisconsin is currently under construction.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1897, Gordon Food Service has been delivering exceptional quality, heartfelt service and outstanding value to foodservice operators. What began as a simple butter-and-egg delivery service is today North America\u2019s largest family-owned and managed broadline foodservice distributor. Gordon Food Service distributes to foodservice operators throughout the Midwest and along the entire East Coast of the United States and coast to coast in Canada.
