This recall has been initiated due to lactic acid buildup causing certain bottles to “bloat” and continue to ferment. Although not all bottles from all the batches are affected, we are advising you to avoid opening any bottles that appear or feel “bloated”. Failing to comply to the recall may result in further complaints from your customers of the product splattering on walls, furniture, carpet, etc. or eyes when opening the affected Sriracha bottles. However, be assured that the affected products do not pose a food safety issue.
Please isolate any affected product (see below table) and destroy it in a secure manner to prevent unauthorized consumption. If you have product stored out of the case and are unsure of the code date please destroy this product also. Your sales representative will be able to issue you credit. Please note that proper procedures must be followed and these cases may not be returned to your distributor. If you have further distributed any of these products, then you are responsible to notify all consignees of this recall.
